What share does granddaughter have when property is given to grandson?
30-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
My grandfather had wrote will only on grandson and he had died. Can grand daughter can get the share on the property
No, the grand daughter is not entitled to any share in the property of your grandfather which he transferred to his grandson through will. After the death of the grandson, his property will go to his legal heirs and the grand-daughter (his sister) might be entitled to some share in her brother’s property depending upon the circumstances of your case and in accordance with the Hindu Succession Act, 1956.
If grandfather's self acquired property he can sell or gift or WILL as his wish. Grandfather executed WILL only in the name of the grandson after the death of grandfather then grandson will be an absolute owner of the property. Therefore, WILL in the name of the grandson granddaughter will not get any share in the grandfather's property.
