What is the process to transfer the property through gift deed

05-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
Property in the name of my grandmother. Now she wishes to transfer the same to my name her grandson. How should I go about getting a gift deed done. What would be the charges or stamp duty I would have to pay to get the deed registered.

The gift deed once signed by both is deemed to be executed, it will be non judicial paper but franking, echallan etc of other modes of payment may be employed to pay stamp duty.
If Donee (the person receiving the gift) is a specified family member – a fixed duty of Rs.1000 + surcharge + cess and Rs.500 regisration fee. If Donee is not a family member, then the stamp duty is 5% on the market value plus surcharge plus cess and 1% registration fee.
