What is legal procedure to claim father's property died intestate?

Hi..Iam from Hindu religion. from India,chennai..My father brought a land and gave it to my grand father and already my grand father has some land which was given to him by his father (my great grand father)..now my grand father died without writing any will..so now i want know whether i have legal rights in those lands or not..??

Sir,

From your query i inferred that , can u get share from your ancestral property? as well the land bought by your father and gave to your grandfather?, you will right in the ancestral if it is not subdivided and stands as joint family property, as for as your father bought property is concerned whether the said property was bought in your fathers name? or grandfather's name? then alone it can be answered.

As far as the property standing in the name of your father you can not claim any right over it. But, you can claim your grandfather's; Great Grand father's property. And to claim over the right in your grandfather's property you must prove that it is ancestral in origin. A person dying interstate (i.e., without a will) is governed section 8 to 13 of Hindu Succession Act.,
