What are the rights of a bonafide purchaser of the property ?

Sir, 10 years back we baught one property near by my native place in maharashtra(district sindhudurg). My father name is there on saat bara also we have regitered copy of purchase. Now after 10 years it is came to know that the person from whom we baught the property was not the legal owner. The original owner gone to court and court has given an order to remove the changes from saat bara But when we baught the property, title on saat bara was in his name. Now original owner is saying that the property is belongs to him and you have to vacate it. Sir please advice Regards

As far as vacation of property is concerned, it can be done only by following due process of law. You need to investigate as to how your vendor's name got reflected in Saat bara when somebody else is the real owner. If the entries in saat bara are found to be fake or manipulated, you can proceed against your vendor criminally for cheating etc under IPC and under civil laws for recovery of consideration along with losses if any and damages.

The original owner had cheated you. You can get the stay order from the Honerable high court. You can get the latest and 7/12 extract, title & search report from the expert property lawyer. Regards and
