What are my rights on my husbands property after his death?

i got married in 2012 and my husband died in 2014. i want to know what are my rights in the property. he had to self acquired property and ancestral property. what is my share in it. can i sell it?

Your query is unclear. " he had to self acquired property and ancestral property" - I am unable to ascertain whether he had any share to a property. If he died without a will, then rules of Succession would open up. If it is self-acquired property, you might have a share in it, subject to other conditions. If it is ancestral property, you may be able to claim his share if he had a share in the first place.

Dear Madam, you have every right to get your husband's self acquired property and also you hve to claim your ahre in rspect of the ancestral property of your husband as per Hindu Succession Act as well as Hindu Law.

It is not clear whether you are a Hindu,a Muslim or a Chritian? how can we give opinion without these clear details as the law of inhertance vary from community to community .Again amongst Hindus generally you should know you are governed by which school of Hindu law i.e. Mitakhsara Bombay or Mitakshara Madras or under some other branch ? some details are required otherwise we may not be able to give correct picture.
