Want loan against property in name of grandfather how to transfer it

12-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)

I want to take loan on a property. But the property papers are in the name of my grandfather who is not alive any more. The property transfer rates are pretty high here. Is there any other way to transfer the property and get loan against it?

You may approach the local revenue office (also known as the patwari or district collector) and file an application for mutation of the property. The property you have inherited is through succession if your grandfather had died without executing a will. Therefore, all his legal heirs would have a share in the property. If there is a will left behind then a probate will need to be applied for. Feel free to get in touch with the LawRato team at 9599-000-555 for further assistance.
