Uncle is objecting to divide ancestral property want to know our right

Dear sir, My uncle has been looking after the undivided ancestral property for past 25 years and now hes not ready to divide it saying that he has looked after it all these years and spent lot of money and effort to develop the land.But he enjoyed all the output also.Can i approach the courts and what are the chances for inheritance and time limit it may take in the courts.

If you want to claim your rightful share in the coparcenary (joint family property) then you must file a suit for partition. Whether you are entitled to a share and to what extent depends on several factors such as your personal law (religion) and the status of the properties.
