Society forcing me to build Power of attorney

Hi, I have one 2BHK flat in PCMC area Pune. But I am staying in NCR location. Society is forcing me to build power of attorney in the name of my agent who is looking my flat in pune. First of all, is society forced me to do the same. OR can I prepare one agreement between me and my agent just to do maintenance activity in Pune. Also there is one leakage in the roof of my flat means there is lekage from top of my flat because of this my roof is damaging. I asked society to repare the same but they said. it is internal to your flat so you need to correct. Also society is not supporting me. Regards, Santosh
Society cannot force you to give a power of attorney in the name of your agent. I assume that you must be having a share certificate of your flat in your name. After perusing the brief facts which you have provided, in my view there is no need to give any power of attorney in the name of your agent. I assume that you must be paying maintenance charges on time. Try to find out the cause of leakage is it from outside your house then society has to repair it.
