Rights of Christian widow with no children in husband's property

My husband died two years back without a will. We have no children. Properties are donated by his father to my husband. His parents are not alive. I am now 57 years old . married before 38 years. Now his brothers and sisters are demanding for half the property. We are Christians (r.c). Local advocates are telling that they are correct. What to do

In your case Indian Succession Act will be applicable. Neither of your husbands siblings have no right on his property as long as you are alive. So don't get involve in the unnecessary worries . Brothers and sisters have no right for demanding...Go forward with this advice.

Your husband had been the absolute owner if his father had conveyed the properties to him through a registered deed. In the given circumstances, you are the only legal heir. You may get them recorded in your name and can dispose them at your discretion during your lifetime.
