Renovation work at Neighbour's House

17-Oct-2023 (In Property Law)
I reside on 4th floor and my neighbours at 3rd floor are doing renovation at home by combining two flats, breaking the in-between walls of living room, kitchen and washrooms. They are also changing the floor tiles and doing other interior work at home. Apart from neighbours at 3rd floor, the renovation work is going on various other flats too which includes 4th floor and 5th floor too. Since we are the initial residents in the newly constructed building, we have to bear the dust, noise of almost all the flats. The noise of hammer is getting too much to bear. Please advice if we can stop them from doing so legally.

1) if any structural alterations are being made by your neighbors they need permission from municipal corporation .

2) the fact that new rooms are being added , windows alignment changed woul amount to structural alterations .

3) file RTi application as to whether building plans have been sanctioned .

4) if no sanction has been obtained move court and obtain stay order against any further construction being carried out .
