Procedure to transfer khata and paani

23-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, A Few years back, we had purchased an land in green belt of Anekal, Bangalore. The sales deed is registered. However, for a portion of the land, Khata and Paani have not been transferred to us. I would like to know the procedure and complexity involved in transferring Khata and Paani to our title. Thanks,

The property is in your name and you have to apply for transfer of khatha based on the Sale Deed. Have you paid the property tax? The jurisdictional Tahsildar office will process the application and can transfer the revenue records to your name

if it is agricultural land, you need to apply to your taluk office or or before deputy tahsildar for change of Khatha, there is a printed form available at the office itself, and you have to attach a copy of the registered sale deed along with the application.
