Procedure to get land records for land occupied post partition
10-May-2023 (In Property Law)
My father came to India after partition and had a claim to get compensatory land in India. He is now deceased but had told us about the claim. We do know about the names in which the land was allotted (my father & his brother were the allottees). We would like to know the procedure to get the land records & get it transferred to the surviving family members. P.S. - land was allotted in Punjab State.
You will have to go to the sub-registrar office where the property is registered and apply for an encumbrance certificate.
