Owner died 50 yrs ago no claim staying in it for 35 yrs how to tansfer

17-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)

Hello Everyone, I stay in Mumbai and want to know what can be done wherein the owner is dead 50 years back and there is no such claimant for the said property. We are staying at the property from 35 years as a tenant and have taken care of the house and also have all the old bills and relevant property papers. Is it possible to get my name updated on the property papers? Please help me with the proper process that needs to be followed. Thank you in advance for your advice.

In case the owner of the property is dead, the legal heirs of the owners only have the right over the property. The legal heirs can claim for share in the property, the property can only be transferred in your name by the legal heirs of the property.
