Neighbor claiming right on our propety what to do

We have an old house which was build before 1947. My grandfather had paid for the land on which house was built. But somehow neither property legally transfer that time nor any payment slip we have. Now our neighour has filed a suit and claiming that property belongs to him and stop us to repair the same. House is in bad condition and will broke off any time if not repaired. Please suggest how we should proceeds.
Ddear querist ... first of all just remeber posessionis half title as litigation can take 15 to 20 years time to be decide but status qua orders can harss you so do repair your house ... and for more proper advise you have to give more details .
