Municipality demanding 3x property tax for unauthorized construction

i own a commercial shop in pune which measures 450 sq .ft + 185 sq ft mezzanine with a height of 16 ft..on agrement papers total area is 635 sq.ft...while renovating my shop i i increased the length of my mezzanine floor means loft but not of RCC..it is wooden structure.Last week some muncipality officer visited in my premises and saying this loft constructed is unauthorised and issued me email notice mentioning i have to pay three times the property tax i am paying now..I S THER ANY OTHER LAW to reply the notice

firstly u not applied for permission for construction for want of Regularization letter means ur defaulter.
2nd your shop is unauthorized then you are automatically defaulter for non compliance of procedure of municipality for requirement of permission.
they are demanding is legal.

Yes definately u need to give reply to Pune municipal corporation . Your rival had definately inform the authority about it. U need not to worry about since u own that shop and u have authority to do needful.
