Minimum cost and compliance on transfer of property within family
24-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)
I am a mother willing to transfer my property to my daughter in law. What route will give me the minimum cost and legal compliances a. Through Will, b.Through Gift deed. My question is regarding minimum compliance and minimum stamp duty and registration cost. The documents and the papers of the property, etc are validly available and the property belongs to Mumbai suburban areas, Maharashtra. Please give the amount in figures or % as applicable
Comparatively speaking Gift deed is your answer. Cost & expenses as well as time involved is less in Gift than what will be applicable to Will. Here I must mention that to apply professiinal mind and time to provide you details of actual cost & expenses of both options, you have prepare to compensate it. kindly oot for paid consultency or contact for appointment.

If you are willing to transfer your property to your daughter in law, the stamp duty and registration charges shall apply. But if you are willing to transfer the property to your son through a gift deed, the charges shall be very low.
And if you execute a will, it shall not cost you much, but in such case your daughter in law is entitled to get the property only after your death.
