Landlord increasing rent to high amount without reason what to do

Sir we are three familys live in 25 to 30 years in house at uttarakhand .now owner increase rent 2500.we paid every month 300 rs and other 500 rs.two family open a shop in front of house and he is our income for family.we are not able to increase rent of 2500.and the owner warning us pay the rent in two days.otherwise he locked the shops. Sir we are poor families not able to pay so much rent. Sir please help us.what can we do by law.
No need to increase rent. Landlord cannot increase force fully. So better to aend a legal notice. In uttrakhand same law prevails as in u.p. you can send your details on my mail we will initiate in sebding the notice to landlord.
