Matter seems to be quite old but you have come to know about the same very lately since the sale deed has already been done therefore in my opinion you will have to prefer title suit for declaration of sale deed as null voide and inoperative being the fraudulent transaction and not binding upon you

You have dotted very subtle issues which I feel glad to manifest it. As per the law, it is very difficult to prove those things which is not available in present. In your case, someone sold your grandmother land with the help of wrong thumb impression and it was come to your cognizance after a long decade when your grand mother passed away, so we have to prove two things (1) that thumb impression is not thumb impression of my grand mother which was difficult to prove because she passed away (2) during the time of living of grand mother whether she gave any property to her family members if yes then we can create a factual matrix and file a suit for right, title and interest.
