Land dispute pending for 20 years what can be done

23-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
hi, We are nri, and have had land in bangalore for 20 years. It was disputed 20 years ago, and sent to court, and since then no outcome has come out. The person disputing, is claiming that the land is theirs. What had happened was a road was built on his plot of land, so he tried to claim that land was his. The land is vacant, and my parents had given up on it. Nothing is come out of it for 20 years, and i was wondering if there was anything we can do. We have all the documentation, but we dont know where to start. How do we pursue the court. How do we check the status of the land? is there a way to check the land is still in court? kind regards nehal

You can file a declaration suit in the civil court claiming the possession and ownership rights of the same. You can consult it with the registrar's office as to who is having the registration in his/her name in the registrar's land records.
