Land bought in 1986, can it be mutated in my name?

06-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
I bought a land in 1986 from A, which A bought from B in 1980, which B bought from C in 1976. land is still mutated in the name of C. I have built a house in half of the land. I have all the (C-B, B-A, A-Me) original registered sale deeds. All transfers has been done legally. I have receipts of paid land taxes to the municipality in my name till date. Now I want the land to be mutated to my name. Is it possible ? If not, then why ? If yes then how ?

Yes. You can mutate your names with B.L.& L.R.O. & local municipality. For municipality, atfirst you bring the mutation form from the municipal authority. Then fill up it with a declaration on a non judicial stamp paper and enclose the copy of all three deeds and a site plan of your property and submit it. The municipal authority inform a date of hearing. Then on the hearing date, you have to go to the municipal authority with the original papers. Then municipal authority can mutate your name from C. For further details you may take advice from a lawyer. Thank you.

Your registered sale deed and link deeds including ROR are required to be perused for suggesting any legal course of action.Without studying those documents it would be improper on my part to offer any opinion in the matter.Contact lawRato for further instructions.
