Is there a way to own temple land if paying rent since 40 years

17-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, My Parents came and setteled in a village some 40 years back. They have built a home in temple land which is now under endownment. We are paying rents from day one and we do have rent receipts from 1985 on words they started giving receipts then. My question is there a way to own the place by paying the current govt value or ia there any other way to own it. They were in this place for almost 40 years. We belongs to BC-B caste

Hi
Since it is the government land, you cannot transfer ownership. however nothing stops you and your succeeding generations from staying in the land by paying a nominal rent to the endowments.
At the same time, endowment authorities also cannot vacate you or your parents or your successors at any point of time till such time you continue to pay the rent.
