Is Land leasing for agriculture legal in U.P.If yes, then how much land can a person or a corporation can take on lease from a set of farmers?
In order to transfer ownership over the land to the cultivator U.P. has abolished leasing of agricultural land with a few exceptions. So except for a few exceptional situations agricultural land cannot be obtained on lease.
However contract farming and various other alternatives are available which could effectively serve one's purpose. Their are many options apart from land leasing like forming a Cooperative, collective farming, contract farming etc. which can be availed as per the requirements.
