19-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)

I am planning to buy a flat on a land which was earlier an Inam land, later registration of occupancy right of land was done in 1979 in the court of special deputy commissioner for abolition of Inams on payment of Rs 1240 as per sec 27 of amended act 1973, in 1980 person x purchased this land and in 2005 the construction of flats started on this land in Joint venture with one builder and person x. Is it ok to buy a flat in this land?

First, you must ensure that all the clearances have actually been obtained which can be done by way of an RTI application. Second, you must have the documentation vetted by a professional. Third, you may also want to conduct a title search over the property. Fourth, you must look into the reputation of the builder and their past track record.
