Is it necessary to transfer ownership in legal heirs name

21-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
i am a 60 year old widow living in my father's house from past 60 years. My father died 45years ago and the flat was on his name. we do not have any proof of the same of any documents for his identity verification. the society association is asking us to get the flat transferred on to the owner's legal heirs name. we are 6 siblings. Is it mandatory to divide and transfer the property in our names in order to continue living there?

u have apply for heirship certificate before civil court, the matter for ownership and who is legal representative of the said property. u have liberty to file application along with documents I.e. ur leaving certificate ( school) to show ur unmarried name means ur a daughter of deceased father. 2nd death certificate of ur father and mother, 3rd ur id proof (adhar/voting ), 4th property card( akhiv patrika/adhikar abhilekh panji ) . this documents sufficient for ur heirship certificate.
thereafter u mutated ur name in city survey department. then living continues no problem.
