Is it necessary to change current owner's name prior to buying a plot

Hi, I am buying a 40x33 BBMP A khata plot(Individual site khata) from a layout of 4.4acre from local builder. This has one survey number and three hiss (eg.sy no:xx/1, SyNo:xx/2 and SyNo:xx/3) among these three one RTC of SyNo: xx/1(1.13 acre) has still reflecting old owner name. Is it important to get it name changed to current owner name prior to buying it or is it OK to change it later in my name. Please clarify.
Inform the seller to get it transferred into his name and then proceed for registration.
