If mother in law co owner in flat can husband cousins claim share
24-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
if me and my husband purchase a flat with loan equally divided between us, and put name of my mother in law as owner with us. can other siblings of my husband claim on the share of this property?
Your mother in law will be deemed to be co owner not owner along with you both. In the absence of shares of you three not mentioned it will be presumed that each of you has 1/3rd share each. In the event of her predeceasing you her other children will be eligible to inherit from her one third share.
