23-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
My Mother has a property in her name. She recently expired . My father is alive . I would like to transfer the property in my name . Which is a easier route ? Getting it transferred to my Father's name and get it through my father by gift will or directly getting it transferred to my name ?

Consult and discuss with relevant papers of the property. Land or house, you have not mentioned properly. Consult and get property transfer from your mother to your or your father. Property documents and up to date tax paid receipts is required.

You can try either of these two ways. But are you the only heir to your mother ? The transfer directly to your name is called pavati khata and it requires you to show that you are the only heir to your deceased mother or that you have no objection from oyjer heirs to get it transferred to your name.

madum, first ly, take joint katha both in The name of your father and yourself. Later ,you can take either by gift or release deed between you. You can not directly transfer from your father without law ful act.
