how to respond to Legal notice received from MCD

I got a RAD stating that, my father had demolished the wall of a land which is going under construction.. And want us to give Rs 50000 as compensation..within 30 days... Sir/madam what next step I should do..
No Replying to a legal notice is not compulsory, however, if your father did demolish the said wall then, engage a lawyer and send your reply to the legal notice. And if he did nothing then, ignore the legal notice.

If the notice is issued without giving you an opportunity of hearing before concluding that the wall was actually demolished and demolished by your father and before asking to pay compensation, you can challenge the same before appellate authority if any or can file a writ petition if there is no appellate authority under concerned municipal act of the state concerned.
