How to ensure the Defendant does not go back on statement

We have a complex litigation problem on our property (Partition issue) involving several relatives. One relative currently on our side understand only Hindi, while filing written statement in English, how can we ensure that the relative in later date does not say "i dint knew what was written in the statement".
Written statements filed by the party is signed and verified by the party and the party cannot revoke that statement. Written Statement is filed by the party itself and he cannot revoke such statement at later stage.
