How to deal with non written distribution of family property

Hi My great grandfather distributed his land's in his brother's & brother's children without anything in writing , So please suggest me that who is the legally actual owner of that land My Grandfather Son OR his brother's and their children. Paper of all that land is having Great-grandchildren.
All of you will be legal owner divide it on paper by an affidavit file a suit of declaration in District court of your locality and get an order in this respect that what all lands property belongs to whom so that in future no dispute arises.
