How is the property distributed among children after parents

Hi, My husband bought a property few years back which he purchased under my mother's name. Now both my father and mother expired. I have only one sister.Now my sister sent a court notice to me that she will also get a share in that property(as it is in our mother's name) How can I get the whole property in my name/ my husband name. We are planning to construct a house in that property.Should I receive that court notice and attend the case ?What will happen if I do not attend the court?
