How is compensation giving by govt distributed among HUF members

04-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)

My grand father self acquired property is acquired by government for constriction of road and they are also paid the compensation to family . I our family there are 8 members 4 are men and 4 female . the male member claim that as per HINDHU SUCCESSION ACT 2005 they are not eligible to get compensation because they are not members of H U F and they are born before 1956 and now grand father is no more , and they are claiming that there is no law in force to give the amount of compensation that is given by the government . And that compensation distribution amounts to partition in family

look for the recent judgment passed by the supreme court in pulvathi case in AIR 2015 SC 6160 and if you are not governed under then you can seek for compensation, the rights of the female heirs are detailly discussed in the said case
