If the deceased has died intestate by leaving his self acquired property means his wife and children will be the first legal hairs to the said property. If in case the deceased is unmarried and survived with his parents then it will be transferred to them .

When a male hindu dies intestate (without leaving a WILL), his son, daughter, widow, mother all will succeed to his estate simultaneously. You may refer to section 8 of Hindu Succession Act, 1956 and the schedule thereto.
