Does grandson have share in grandfathers self made property?
28-Dec-2023 (In Property Law)
We are 2 brothers and 2 sisters. My father had self earned property and died without making a Will. Does the grandson have any share in father's property? If brother and sisters give me a relinquishment deed, will grandson have share in the property? Can he claim it?
Hi
After the death of your father you will inherit his self acquired property along with your brother, sisters and mother ( if still alive) in equal
Share.
You will need relinquishment feed from
All other legal heirs as stated above.
Grandson has no share as long as his father is alive and therefore has no right and thus can not claim it.

As per law, on death of your father, his property stood devolved upon you.
The devolved property is deemed as your self acquired property. Therfore, grandson has no share. You can take relinquishment in your favor.

Your father had self earned property and he died without making any will. It will go to your two brothers and two sisters. Your grandson entitled to your father's property after your lifetime.
