Does grandson have share in ancestral property

25-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)

My father deceased 8 years back.. I am the only son of second wife. First wife has 3 children (2 male, 1 female). Grandfather deceased 8 years ago. Asked the share in the property, but they disagreed to give, so i sued in court. I have legal documents to support my mother is second wife and i am his son (except marriage certificate, as my dad was govt official), My dads property was only one 30 x 40 BDA site, that also they sold by telling lies that only one wife. I sued for that also in court. Remaning property are my grandpa's. How much share can i expect from my grandpa property.

In case of a self acquired property of your father the property will be distributed equally among all the legal heirs of your father. i.e among the children from both the wives. In case of self acquired property of your grandfather, the property will be first distributed among the legal heirs of your grandfather and then the property in your father’s share will be distributed among his legal heirs. In case of an ancestral property, the property will be distributed according to the Hindu Succession Act.
