The change of name does not affect your property rights. You can prove your status i.e that you are the daughter of so and so from many records/documents. It can be proved through your birth certificate, through affidavit from your father, relatives if it comes to proving the same or through suit for declaration that you are daughter of so and so in a Court of Law if any one challenges your status as daughter of your mother.

Change in name shall not effect any rights in getting/devoloving any share in yours monther's property. After death of the owner of the property the said property shall devolves on the Class I legal heirs as per Hindu Sucerssion Act and dughter is a Class I legal heir and it is subject to any Testementry dcouments made by owner if ay priod to his/her death.
