Do I have any right on mothers grandfather's property

my mothers grandfather who passed away long time back had an agricultural land. he dint leave any will behind. can me or my mother claim our rights over that property?

Actually it depends upon a few things. Different states have different laws in this regard. Furthermore we need to examine whether the land was being used for agriculture or not. Having said that the general rule is that if the father has died before 2005 you can surely sue.

yes it always depends how many legal heirs crop up and any mortgage , loan tc it all depends buyer seller agreement lots of things come up need to investigate before advice ....yes if u r only legal heir than u can initiate proper court proceeding to own the land.

definitely you both have your claims as a member of the family if it is an ancestral property i.e it was inherited by your grandfather from his forefathers. you can go for a family settlement and each one of your family members could take their share if others are opposing it or not ready to give your share then you have to send a legal notice and thereafter file a suit for partition in the local civil court. If the land is self earned property of your grand father then also your mother has a say in that property since he has not left behind any will.
