Your father has to provide the death certificate of your grand mother and other relevant documents pertaining to the property like up to date tax paid receipt, khatha extract, khatha certificate, EC etc which is in your grand mother's name and ID proofs or documents which prove that your father is the only son of your grandmother and no other children are there to inherit the property and can provide the same at jurisdictional BBMP office if it is bangalore then the needful will be done as per the procedure.
