Complaints being made against 40 year old property what can be done

sir i have a shop in old bus stand banswara. size 5*5. with the possesion of more than 40 years... but now a days some people giving complain against us in nagar parishad banswara that it is an encroachment.. sir i want to know as per indian law what to do ??
to whom are they filling the complaints? has the concerned authority taken any action against you? if no then you need not worry if yes then have they sent you any kind of notice if yes, kindly reply back to the notice through a lawyer.

u don't have to do anything. before taking any action against you nagar parishad will give you notice. Once notice is given you have to show to them that you have been possession and ownership of the shop for more than 40 years. People who have complained have no cause of action as they have started residing after the shop was running and occupied by you. thus, their right to challenge has been estopped.
