Can one sibling ask for share in ancestral property parents dead

My grandfather has some property in his native and my grandmother and grandfather both are no more and my father has one brother and one sister they both are not ready to sell the property. I want to ask my father can sell his share in that property or not?
Yes your father can sell his share from property in question after devidation of property if it is joint property. In the joint property the partion is necessary under the act other wise sell will become null and void .
