can neighbor use my land for everyday route if an alternate is there

My neighbour is trying to create a new route (rasta) from his house which is completely my land.Moreover he has already a clear route joining the main route of village. He has no land in that side where he is trying to create new route its completely ours.His arguement is no one can stop creation of new route(rasta).He infact installed a small gate towards that side and he is doing all these forcefully. It would be great help if you could kindly advise me the legal procedure.

An easement is a right benefiting one parcel of land (known as the dominant tenement) that permits the rightful users (not necessarily solely the owner) of that land to perform specified actions over a neighbouring parcel of land . Perhaps the most widely known easement is the private right of way. There are others, such as the right to light, right of support.

but he cant force to use your land when their is an alternate way to do so.
he cannot create a new road in your land forcefully
contact a good lawyer, who will send him a notice regarding the present issue
