Can I stop my brother selling a joint property without my consent?

26-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
We have 170 acres of land jointly owned by our family. I fear that my brother might sell the land with the help of other share holders without my consent. As the buyers are basically farmers with little education, they might not ask for succession certificate etc. Is there any way of stopping them from selling without my consent. Can I intimate the registering authority to stop this fraud.

Yes you can.
There are various ways-
filing suit,
injunction,
144,
etc

Or u can also construct boundary wall too.

You can also issue legal notices.

Consult an adv. Immediately.

Respected Questioner
As per the question you have raised question " without your permission can your family members sell your shares of land or not?
I would like to inform you that as per the Transfer of Property Act no one can sell your share to anyone without your prior permission. Secondly We have one option to file a Caveat Suit before the Lower Court regarding your ancestral property in which we should be prayed therein that without making a party no order can pass against me with respect to ancestral land and also we can file a Partition suit for separation of your share in ancestral property and also a petition have to be filed before the Registry office to intimation him regarding the property.
