Can father sell his property without consent of wife and daughter

My wife is a single child of her parent. My father in law is not cooperative with either my wife and my mother in law. He is the legal owner of his property. He is now trying to sell the property without my mother in law and my wife's consent. How we can stop him .
you can only stop him if the property has been acquired from joint family funds or the family is ancestral property-in that case your wife will have a share in the property. however, if the property is the self acquired property your father-in-law (bought from monies earned entirely by him), and he is the sole owner of the property, you cannot stop him from selling it. one way of going about it is to file a domestic violence case/complaint and ask the court that an order be passed for you to remain in the property and he restrained from selling it.

If the property is not the self acquired property then certainly he can not sell the property without the due consent of your mother in law and wife. Even if he is adment then file a case for injunction.

If property is ancestral one then your wife can file suit for injunction against sale but if the property is self acquired then he is free to deal with as per his wish. However in that situation your mother-in-law can file suit for injunction for her maintenance and right to residence .
