Can children claim the property of divorced father

18-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)
My father expired recently. He devorced my mom and married another woman who is also a devorced lady. She also have a minor son, who is not born for my dad. I and my elder sister are married. When he devorced my mom, he gave settlement for my mom but not for me and my sister. So can we claim for any property of my father?? If so what basic steps or documents we need to take.

You can claim your share in the ancestral property of your father. However, you cannot lay any claim on his self acquired property which is subject matter of a Will. However in case of an intestate i.e. if your father has not left a Will, then you will have a right subject to a Probate in case of a dispute.
