Builder demanding money for changes in flat after possession

06-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
I bought a 920sqft flat in Rajarhat, Kolkata, in 2013 and received handover/possession last month after clearing all pending dues (5% to developer and also money for registration slated for July 24). Suddenly yesterday, I receive a mail from developer saying "inner layout" of my flat was being changed for "aesthetic improvements" and so my super built up area was increasing to 961sqft and I have to fork out another Rs 1.25 lakh for this. My agreement with builder mentions that developer can change layout, but only before completion and handover. What should I do? I am Hindu by religion

You can file a complaint against the developer in the consumer forum (either district or state, depending on the value of your claim) seeking redressal of your grievance by the forum. This is a clear instance where the developer has violated the terms of the agreement between you.
