brothers unaware about home documents and i have tax paid bills

My father and his brother bought a house property in village. 2 brothers were staying with their family from 25 years.They both are un aware of maintaining home documents.They just had Demand copy issued from Grama panchayath with /A and /B suffixes for their property no in ledger book.Now my father has expired.They r telling us now that this whole property belongs to him.How can i move further on this issue.I have demand copy from panchayath and also tax bills paid.

is the property registered under the name of your father and your uncle. then your uncle cannot claim the whole property. at the time of death did your father execute any will or he died intestate then the property would be divided according to the succession act between the legal heirs of your father.
You can also file a case for partition in incase the property is a joint property of your father and uncle.
