Brother not giving me my share in ancestral property do I have rights?

we have have shop in mumbai in which me and my younger brother have property share. The shop is on Rent. rent of shop is 24,000/- which all he is keeping. he is not giving my share. when i asked for my share of rent he intimidates with Threats. he told me he will insult me in front of gram panchayat as i am girl asking for my share. accd. to him girls don't have any right in ancestral property. 1)what should i do for getting my share? 2)how should i do all process from distance so that i become safe? 3) what should i do if i wanted to sell my property share? plz advice me
First, file a complaint with your local police station detailing the facts of your case. This will ensure to some extent that your brother does not take any untoward action against you. Second, file a suit for recovery of the rental arrears. Third, file a suit for partition of the property or for declaration of your rights over the suit property with further reliefs such as permanent injunction and possession.
