Bought property in joint name and paid loan now brother asking share

I have a joint property with me and my brother. We had a joint loan and it was all paid by me. I am in possession of the property and i am pay all the maintenance charges. Now my brother has come up asking share in that property. What can i do?

As you both are the Co-owner of the property, you both have the equal proportionate interest and rights over the said property. Therefore, both of your's name might be there in the share certificate of the said property as the co-owner. Even, you cannot dispose / sell of that property without his consent as you both are the co-owner. Secondly, as you said you both being the co-applicant and had a joint loan but the said loan is paid only by you and you are only the one who is paying the maintenance charges as you are in possession. Then in that case if you can file a suit in court of law to change the ownership of the property as the same cannot be changed without the court order. OR else, if your brother gives up his right as a co-owner in your name.
