As you have bought a disputed property which makes your situation to be governed by the doctrine of constructive notice, i.e, According to s. 3, Transfer of Property Act, a person is said to have notice of a fact when he actually knows the fact or when but for willful abstention from enquiry or search which he ought to have made, or gross negligence, he would have known it. However, you can register a FIR against the said seller who sold you the property under section 420 of IPC for cheating.
