Are my Grandfather's daughters eligible to claim equal share ?

I am having a property which is on the name of my grandfather , my grandfather have 2 son n 3 daughters Grandfather died in year 1994. Please let me know in this case my grandfather daughters r eligible to claim equal share on this property ?
If the property is ancestral then all the legal heirs may it be male of female are entitled for the share .If the property is self acquired and there is a will then the property will be distributed according to the will.
